Find Shape

The quick find allows the user to find a shape in any of the databases checked in the search portion of the dialog box according to the parameter values entered in the edit boxes to the left of the Search portion.

The edit boxes in the first row from the left, designate the anchor value in inches or centimeters. The second column designates the tolerance off of the anchor value. If a value is entered in the tolerance edit box, in 16th of an inch or mm, for one of the specific criteria an anchor value of 0 is assumed. The items that may be search on are the Section Modulus about the horizontal(x) or Vertical(y) axis, the absolute height of the element, the absolute width of the element, or the flange thickness. Only those items with a P designation next to them will work for pipe elements.

The user may select the type of units by choosing one of the option buttons in the units box.

Once all options are selected the find now button may be selected. Once selected all shapes from the selected databases matching the criteria will be displayed in the list box on the right side of the dialog. Double clicking on one of the elements will change the Data View in the Main Window to the database from which the selection came, select the shape into the combo box, and display the data.
